Colfax senior LeRoy Harris was the Youth of the Month for Bremer Bank.

Sparked by four three pointers by Kasha Cable, the Elk Mound girls basketball team took a rare win over Colfax by a score of 53-45.

The Elk Mound boy’s basketball team gave their new head coach Kevin Garnett his first win  63-54 over Plum City.

Former Colfax athlete Ryan Zutter, a senior football player at Lawrence University, is one of 30 athletes to be selected for the Academic All-Midwest Conference team.

25 years ago – December 10, 1987

Tami Silva and Jeff DeMoe, both of Colfax, were married October 10 at the Colfax Lutheran Church.

Caroline Reid Lawrence of Spicer and David Wayne Winget of Colfax were married Sept. 26 at United Methodist Church, Crystal, Minn.

Michael and Jean Secraw are the parents of a boy, Joshua John born Nov. 13 at Sacred Heart Hospital, Eau Claire.

Born to Ronald and Catherine Davis, a son named Andrew Ronald Nov. 23.

Kim Marie Woodruff and Lawrence A. Hoffman were married Nov. 14 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Eau Claire.

35 years ago – December 15, 1977

Shooting 29 of 33 from the free throw line helped the Colfax boy’s basketball team bring their record to 2-0 with a 75-60 win over Pepin. Jay Miller scored a career high 24 points to lead the Vikings.

Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Dreger of Colfax have announced the birth of a daughter named Christie Jean Dec. 9.

The Colfax girl’s basketball team defeated Elk Mound 35-23 as Mary Logslett scored a personal high with 12 points for the Vikettes.

50 years ago – December 13, 1962

Born to Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Erickson, a daughter, Kaye Suzanne, Dec. 3 at Memorial Hospital, Menomonie.

A daughter, Barbara Monica was born to Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Knight of New Auburn, Dec. 3 at Lakeside Hospital, Rice Lake.

Howard Kuhn, Dunn County Agricultural Agent passed away Dec. 11 at the age of 41 from a heart attack.

Mary Ellen Martinson became the bride of William A. Mathews Jr. Dec. 1 at Colfax Lutheran Church.

Donald Braaten of Colfax suffered skull, nose and hand injuries in a car crash near Thompson, Conn. Dec. 5. He was with three other crew members of the Carrier USS Lake Champlain when the accident occurred.

65 years ago – December 18, 1947

Mr. and Mrs. Charles Burling will celebrate their golden wedding anniversary with an open house at the home of their son Clarence.

The Colfax High cagers lost 51-25 to Spring Valley but defeated Boyceville 42-33 as Rogstad scored 20 points in the win for Colfax.

The Wisconsin free X-Ray clinic bus will be in Colfax and Sand Creek Feb. 3 to give chest X-Rays to check for tuberculosis.

100 years ago – December 20, 1912

At the United Lutheran Church in the village on Thursday evening of last week occurred the marriage of Mr. Siguard A. Anderson and Miss Anna M. Score.

While out hunting wolves Wednesday of this week, a bunch of young fellows south of town had quite a lively time for a few minutes. While a part of the crowd watched, one held the gun and when “Mr. Wolf” appeared, they gave the signal whereupon the man with the gun seemed to lose courage, dropped the gun and climbed a tree.
