SHIRLEE GRACE BROOKS
Shirlee G. Brooks, age 75 of Forest Township, WI, died unexpectedly on November 14, 2012 at her home in St. Croix County.
Shirlee Grace Brooks was born on June 27, 1937 in Forest Township the daughter of John & Edna (Tronrud) Edwards. She was baptized and confirmed at West Akers Lutheran Church in New Haven Township and graduated from Clear Lake High School in 1955. In 1957, Shirlee worked for a short time as a flight attendant for North Central Airlines. She was married to Harold Brooks on July 5, 1958 at West Akers Lutheran Church, moved to the Twin Cities and together they raised one daughter, Sheila. In 1964, Shirlee and Harold purchased the Dairy Queen in New Richmond, WI, and operated it until it was sold in 1975. By this time they had made their home in New Richmond. In 1989, Shirlee moved back to Forest to operate the family farm after the death of her parents. In her spare time, Shirlee enjoyed crocheting, going to auctions, tending to her flower gardens and taking care of her many cats.
She is preceded in death by her parents; John & Edna Edwards
Shirlee is survived by: husband Harold Brooks – Forest Township, WI; daughter Sheila (Greg) Paul – Hudson, WI; and many relatives and friends.
The funeral service was held at the Scheuermann Funeral Home on Tuesday, November, 20, 2012 at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor Randy Dean officiating and Ginger Dean playing music.
Casket Bearers were Bud Edwards, Monte Edwards, Dean Tronrud, Harry Tronrud, Larry Tronrud, Wayne Tronrud.
Interment was held at West Akers Cemetery, New Haven Township.
