All Dunn-St. Croix Conference volleyball players from Colfax were seniors Lisa Lansin and Carina Lenz and from Elk Mound were senior Lea Cernocky and juniors Stephanie Irwin and Megan Krumrie.
All Conference picks for football were Viking players Tony Berres, Matt Kistner, Jacob Varnes, Dustin Haugle, Dasan Cook, Kirk Secraw and Kyle Sikora. For the Mounders were Andy Ausman, Jared Suckow, Paul Hittman, Matt Mousel, Nick Schumacher, Kevin Jensen, Joe Meyers, Dennis Arneson, Ryan Schumacher, Brandon Powell, Josh Fizel and Jevin Boardman.
All Conference cross country runners from Colfax were Caleb Townsend, Lloyd Neuberg, Marc Floodquist, Nick Moen, Amanda Burrington, Toni Morning, Mike Baumgartner and Lauren Castillo.
A son, Connor Marc Coate, was born to Russel and Monique Coate Nov. 13 at Holy Rosary Hospital in Miles City, Mont.

Larry Osterberg received the Gold Clover Award for 10 years of service to the Colfax Comets 4-H Club.
Named to the All Conference football team from Elk Mound were Rick Anderson, Craig Koller, Jeff Thomas and Tate Zurbachen, and from Colfax were Todd Grossnickle, Todd Berge, Jim Dobbs, Matt Osterberg, Charlie DeLorge, Todd Kragness and Dennis Schindler.
All Conference volleyball players from Elk Mound were Colleen Heimstead and Sara Solem, while Lori Bates was the only Viking to make the team.
35 years ago – November 24, 1977
Marie Kathrine Ausman, Elk Mound and Ronald Jerome Swartz, Bloomer, were wed Nov. 12 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Elk Mound.
Robyn Berg, New Auburn, and Richard Lee, Bloomer, were united in marriage Oct. 29 at New Hope Lutheran Church, Sand Creek.
Robert Longdo, Eau Claire, claimed Nancy Hepfler, Colfax as his bride Nov. 11 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Ludington.
A daughter, Elizabeth Ann was born to Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Bowe at Cadott Nov. 15.
Dick and Carol Jacobson, Colfax, have announced the birth of a son, Jesse Adam, born Nov. 12.
Shelly Knutson was the lone Vikette picked for the Dunn St-Croix volleyball team, while Denise Knutson made the honorable mention team.
50 years ago – November 22, 1962
Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Christianson, Chippewa Falls, are the parents of a son named Michael, Nov. 15 at the Bloomer Hospital.
Mr. and Mrs. Steve Gehring are the parents of a baby girl named Daphne Jayne, born Nov. 16 at Luther Hospital, Eau Claire.
Under the direction of head coach Frank Kyes, the Viking boys basketball team won 66-50 over Bloomer as John Hovre scored 20 points.
65 years ago – November 27, 1947
Luella Stockland and Lynn C. Schwartz were married Nov. 15 in Stillwater, Minn. and are now making their home in Colfax.
Arnold Foslid seems to have shot the biggest buck in the area so far, taking down a 14 pointer that weighed 235 pounds nine miles southeast of Colfax.
Funeral services will be held in Sand Creek Dec. 1 for 26 year old Pvt. Arthur Lester Berg, first war dead to arrive in Dunn County. Berg was killed in the Battle of the Bulge Jan 5, 1945 and his body has rested in Belgian soil for two years until it was removed and shipped to the United States by request of his parents Mr. and Mrs. Herman Berg of Ridgeland.
100 years ago – November 29, 1912
Clifford and Homer Mittelstadt of near Colfax, attended the social at Poplar Creek schoolhouse Saturday evening.
We understand that Gabriel Braaten and Miss Hannah Hanson were married at Elk Mound on Wednesday of this week. We did not learn further particulars.
Joke: Man number 1: “I’ve just bought a splendid talking machine for $100”. Man number 2: “That’s nothing, I got one for nothing”. Man one: “How did you manage to do that?” Man two: “I married it”.
