HAROLD L. HARMS
Harold L. Harms, age 88, of Colfax, passed away on Monday, October 15, 2012, at Potter’s Country Home in Menomonie.
Harold was born on August 21, 1924, in White Lake, South Dakota to C. Harvey and Frieda (Ingenthrone) Harms.
Harold grew up in Dunn County, WI and graduated from Colfax High School in 1943. Harold married Estlyn Teppen on October 21, 1950. Harold spent many years working at what was called the Farmer Store in Colfax. Other jobs included, driving bus as a young man and after the Farmer store closed, he worked at 3M in Menomonie.
Harold enjoyed wood working, reading westerns, fishing, and spending time with all of his grandchildren. His great sense of humor will fondly be remembered.
Harold is survived by his two children, Ellen Odegard of Blair and David Harms of Alaska; two grandchildren, Elisha (Kevin) Rieck of Colfax, Kerry (Danny Market) Odegard of Fall Creek; two great-grandchildren, Adrienne and Kaely; brother, Dennis Harms; and sister, Eileen Bartelt.
He was preceded in death by his wife Estlyn; infant son, Daniel; his parents, Harvey and Frieda; two brothers, Vincent and Jack; and three sisters, Velma, Marcella, and Dorothy.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, October, 20, 2012, at St. John’s Popple Creek Church, Town of Grant. Burial will be held at a later date in St. John’s Popple Creek Cemetery. Visitation was held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, October 19, 2012, at Sampson Funeral Home in Colfax, and one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church.
