MATHILDE A. (TILLIE) ANDERSON

Mathilde A. (Tillie) Anderson, age 83, of Eau Claire, passed away Monday, August 20, 2012 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire, WI.

She was born in Colfax, WI on July 4, 1929, to Helmer and Inga (Tollefson) Anderson. Mathilde grew up on their dairy farm in rural Colfax. She graduated from Colfax High School.

Mathilde worked at the Midelfort Clinic for 12 years and she worked for 30 years as the Office Manager for Wausau Insurance Company in Eau Claire. After retiring she continued to work in various retail positions in the Eau Claire area.

Tillie was an avid flower gardener and enjoyed bird watching in her backyard. She enjoyed cards and zilch and an occasional trip to the casino. She loved to travel with her friends and spent many enjoyable hours traveling across the country with her brother Donald on his long haul trips. During the summer months, Mathilde met with the nurses that she had started training with many years ago; they would meet for lunch at various restaurants in the area and enjoy each other’s company. She was a classy and beautiful lady with a wonderful sense of humor and a generous spirit.

Mathilde is survived by her niece, Tena Anderson of Omaha, NE; nephews, Dana (Amanda) Anderson of Australia and Eric (Lory) Anderson of Offutt AFB, NE; great-nephews, Aaron, Zachary and Jason Anderson; along with many cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Donald Anderson and infant brother Harald Anderson.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on September 15, 2012 at Holden Lutheran Church in rural Colfax, WI with Pastor Les Walck officiating. Interment will be in the Holden Lutheran Church Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 9:30 AM until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in Mathilde’s name to the Holden Lutheran Church.
