CAROL HARRIET DAVIS DAHL

Carol Harriet Davis Dahl passed away peacefully in Hudson, WI on Monday, September 3, 2012 at the age of 94.

She was born in Sand Creek Township on December 13, 1917 to Harry and Anna Marie (Syvertson) Davis. Carol married Erling Ervin Dahl on May 8, 1937 and they were married for 75 years.

Carol was a lifelong member of the Lutheran Church. She donated generously to a number of charitable organizations throughout her life; she also enjoyed quilting, singing, and all things nature related. She loved reading, particularly, her Bible, non-fiction and poetry, and she also penned a number of poems herself. She was devoted to her loving family, which includes seven children: Shelby (Peter) Van Meter, Sausalito CA; Judith (Wayne) Lamb, Hudson, WI; Rodger (Alice) Dahl, Winter Springs, FL; Rodney (Jill) Dahl, Atlanta, GA; Linda (Jerry) Henthorn, Colfax, WI; Steven (Karen) Dahl, Elk Mound, WI; Mellissa Dahl, Hudson, WI; 22 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren, three great, great grandchildren; and sister Ethel (Bill) Stanford.

Carol is preceded in death by her parents, eight siblings, husband Erling and infant granddaughter Jessica Dahl. When asked what her epitaph should be, she replied, “She did her best.” And, she certainly did…

Funeral Services for Carol H. Dahl will be Saturday September 8, 2012 at 1:00 pm at Sampson Funeral Home in Colfax, Pastor Les Walck will officiate with burial in Our Saviors Cemetery in Sand Creek. Friends may call one hour prior to services at the funeral home on Saturday.
