ELLA E. OHMAN
Ella E. Ohman, age 92, of Glenwood City, WI died Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at Glenhaven Inc. in Glenwood City, WI.
Ella was born August 22, 1920 in the Township of Forest, WI to George and Louise (Tesch) Dettmann. She attended Camp Fourteen, and then went to work on the farm with her sister Lenora. She later moved to Denver, CO to work before returning home where she married William Ohman October 26, 1951 in Glenwood City, WI. They raised a family as they enjoyed many camping trips with their pop-up tent camper. They bought an 80 acre farm and moved to the country where they farmed until Bill’s death in 1982. Her son Larry then took over the farm with Ella’s help until she returned to town in 2008.
Ella is preceded in death by her parents, husband William, sister Lenora and brothers Ervin and Raymond.
Ella is survived by two sons: Dennis Ohman and wife Margaret of Woodville, WI and Larry Ohman and wife Kris of Glenwood City, WI; Grandchildren: Erin Anderson and husband Chris of Spring Valley, WI, Will Ohman and fiancée Katie of Clear Lake, WI, Molly Ohman of Ladysmith, WI, Rick Ohman and Erick Ohman both of Glenwood City, WI; great-grandchild Ella Anderson; brothers Robert “George” Dettmann and wife Lucille and Reuben Dettmann and wife Janet; sister-in-law Ruby Dettmann. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church with Reverend Diane House officiating. Burial will be in the Glenwood Cemetery, Glenwood City, WI. Friends were able call at the Anderson Funeral Home on Monday, September 10, 2012 from 5 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to services Tuesday at the church.
