A pair of convicted sex offenders are being released in the area according to notices from the Dunn County and St. Croix County Sheriff’s Offices.
James A. Bever and Christopher Mikulski, 60, will be released in the City of Menomonie and the Town of Emerald respectively.
James A. Bever was released on Tuesday, August 13 and will reside at 932 Broadway Street N, Unit 19 in Menomonie, WI. Bever was convicted of first degree sexual assault of a child and sexual exploitation of a minor on July 6, 1998.
Upon his release, he will be placed on supervision and, will be subject to the Global Positioning System (GPS). Mr. Bever will be required to register with the Wisconsin Sex Offender Registry Program for life.
The Dunn County Sheriff’s Office and Menomonie Police Department in collaboration with the Wisconsin Department of Corrections is releasing the following information pursuant to 1995 Wisconsin Statute 301.46(2m), which authorized the department to inform law enforcement agencies of the release of a convicted sex offender when the release of information will enhance public safety and protection. The individual who appears on this notification has been convicted or committed for an offense that requires registration with the Department of Corrections.
Christopher Mikulski will be released on August 21 and will reside at 2253 170th Ave in Emerald. Mikulski has been convicted of Indecent Exposure (Dec. of 1990, Washington Co., MN), 2nd Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct (June of 2001 and March of 2002, Washington Co., MN), two counts of Forced Viewing of Sexual Activity (May of 2006, St. Croix Co.), and 1st Degree Sexual Assault of a Child (August of 2006, Polk Co.).
When released, Mikulski will also be placed on intensive supervision, and will be subject to the Global Positioning System (GPS). Mr. Mikulski will be required to register with the Wisconsin Sex Offender Registry Program for life.
There will be a community notification meeting concerning Mikulski’s release this Wednesday, August 14 at 6:00 p.m. at the Living Word Chapel at 2746 State Highway 64 in Forest Township.

Sex Offenders have always lived in our communities; but it was not until the WI Sex Offender Registry and Community Notification Law was enacted that law enforcement was able to share this information with the community.
