BOYCEVILLE — Boyceville struggled September 7 against a well coached Elk Mound team according to head coach Jordan Anderson, losing 41-12.

“We knew going into the game that Brady Redwine was going to get the ball early and often,” explained Anderson.

The Bulldogs did well containing Redwine for the much of the first half of the game until late in the second quarter when Redwine broke off for a long run resulting in a touchdown.

Ty Gundlach managed to get to Redwine at the end of the first quarter to put Elk Mound at a third and 10, and the Mounders would beat themselves by getting two penalties within seconds of each other.

The penalties stacked up against Elk Mound giving the field advantage to the Bulldogs, including an unsportsmanlike conduct against Elk Mound in the second quarter less then a minute in.

Quarterback Trevor Hollister had a tough night finding a target downfield getting only 40 yards in ten attempts.

Hollister did find Jaden Reismier late in the fourth quarter for a 25 yard reception resulting in the only touchdown Boyceville would get Friday evening.

Brendan Sempf and Logan Knutdson put up 15 yards between the pair in their three attempts.

Sempf kept running into coverage from the Elk Mound defensive line managing 58 yards total in his 12 attempts to run the ball.

Ty Gundlach and quarterback Trevor Hollister also made attempts to run the ball downfield, Gundlach had 40 yards in 13 attempts and Hollister went on the run twice to gain six yards.

“I was proud of the way our kids battled until the end of the game and never gave up. We even built momentum in the second haft that I hope carries us into the last half of the season,” Anderson stated.

Boyceville will take to the road and head to Colfax to take on the Vikings on September 14.
