Bulldogs Cross Country finishes strong at Bruce Invitational

BRUCE – The Boyceville Bulldogs men’s cross country team had a strong showing at the Bruce cross country invitational finishing fifth out of the 11 teams on August 28.

Nathan Corr crossed the finish line first for the Bulldogs to take ninth place with a time of 19:34.2, Steve Rasmussen followed Corr less than a minute later with a time of 20:27.2 to take 18th.

The third runner had a great performance according to coach Corey Day. “This is Cade Klefstad’s second year as a cross country runner and he is starting to figure it out,” said Day. Klefstad finished the race with a time of 20:58.3 to take 22nd place.

Rounding out the boys’ team were runners Nathaniel Chich and Samuel Chich, finishing 40th and 43rd with times of 21:55.3 and 22:05.0.

The Lady Bulldogs had only one runner for the meet Noelle Wheeldon finishing the race in 27:30.7 to take 45th place.

“She bested her time by over a minute and a half on a challenging course. Noelle is very hard working and the results are starting to pay off for her,” explained Day.

BOYS INDIVIDUAL RESULTS: 9. Nathan Corr 19:34.2, 18. Steve Rasmussen 20:27.2, 22. Cade Klefstad 20:58.3, 40. Nathaniel Chich 21:55.3, 43. Samuel Chich 22:05.0.

GIRLS INDIVIDUAL  RESULTS: 45. Noelle Wheeldon 27:30.7.
