Car vs. semi crash in Dunn County results in fire, injuries

TOWN OF MENOMONIE – A  crash between and automobile and a semi Monday morning Dunn County resulted in a fire and serious injuries.

The Dunn County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched along with the Menomonie Police Department and Fire and Ambulance at 9:16 am Monday, March 27, 2017 for a report of a car versus semi-truck crash on US Highway 12 at County Truck Highway BB in the Town of Menomonie. 

A call to Dunn County E-911 Center reported that the passenger car was on fire and its occupant was believed to be injured.

When law enforcement and emgergency arrived at the scene, they found that an automobile had been northbound on 390th Street when it failed to stop for a stop sign at USH 12. While crossing USH 12 toward CTH BB it was struck by a westbound semi tractor-trailer. The Menomonie Fire Department extinguished the fire and cared for the driver of the automobile. The driver of the automobile was transported to Mayo Menomonie Hospital with serious injuries.

The drivers were the sole occupants of their respective vehicles.

The crash remains under investigation at this time by the Dunn County Sheriff’s Office. The Wisconsin State Patrol Re-Con Team was called in to assist at the scene.

The names of the vehicle drivers are not being released at this time.
