EAU CLAIRE — Wins over Thorp and Bloomer with losses to Osceola and Division I school Eau Claire Memorial resulted in a record of 2-2 for the Elk Mound volleyball team in a tournament played at Eau Claire North Sept. 19.
In the 12-25, 17-25 loss to Memorial, Hannah Flatness led the Mounders with eight kills while Morgan Radtke slammed five. Kari Jo Nigon led in assists with eight and Madysen Borofka collected seven. Abbey Olsen led in digs from the back row with eight, Nigon finished with seven and Serena Wieser came up with five.
Winning by scores of 25-19 and 25-22 over Thorp, Flatness and Wieser both had eight kills with Radtke smacking five, Nigon had a team leading 14 assists and three service aces, Borofka finished with eight assists and three aces, Jordyn Abramowicz collected seven digs to go with six by Wieser and five from Olsen. Radtke also had a pair of blocks in the match.
The Osceola match went three sets with the Mounders dropping the first one 19-25, then bounced back to win the second one 27-25 but lost the third 15-9. Flatness finished with eight kills and a pair of service aces, Radtke was a force at the net with six kills and six blocks, Borofka led in assists with nine while Nigon added six assists and six digs. Wieser picked up 12 digs and Olsen had eight and Abramowicz seven.
The Mounders defeated Bloomer 26-24 and 25-17 as Flatness scored points with seven kills and Allie Weber and Radtke both had four. Radtke again put up a wall at the net, blocking six Blackhawk shots. Olsen was all over the floor as she dug the ball up 17 times, Wieser came up with 11 digs and three aces and Nigon set her teammates up 11 times.
