Colfax-Bloomer wrestlers begin season with close loss to Ladysmith

LADYSMITH — Although both Colfax-Bloomer and Ladysmith  had seven individual winners, the difference in winning or losing the match came down to the fact the Lumberjacks had more pins, resulting in a 42-34 win in Ladysmith Dec. 4.

C-B forfeited at 106 pounds while Ladysmith forfeited at 113 pounds. Winning for B-C were Brady Simonson at 132 pounds with a fall in 2:24, Jarrod Kressin at 145 pounds in a major decision 13-3, Zack Arvold at 160 pounds 4-1, Cole Anderson-Olson pinned his opponent at 170 pounds in 4:47, Brady Hake won 6-5 at 182 pounds and Brady Chance won in a quick pin in 41 seconds at 285.

Dropping their matches all via a pin were 120 pounder Jacob Malinowski, Ike Kramschuster at 126 pounds, Adam Malinowski at 138 pounds, 152 pounder Jon Hayton, Eric Wachtendonk at 195 and Matt Shaw at 220 pounds.

Colfax-Bloomer will have a week off from competition before wrestling at the Eau Claire North tournament Saturday, Dec. 13.
