The Wisconsin Department of Transportation reminds motorists to obey and not tamper with permanent or temporary traffic control devices. These include traffic signs, traffic signals and barricades.
The department maintains traffic control in work zones to ensure both the safety of motorists and crews on site. It is crucial that motorists follow signed road closures in work zones and any areas damaged in the recent flood. Moving traffic control devices increases vulnerabilities, limits security and is violation of state law.
