Every season has to start somewhere, but Colfax’s head baseball coach, Kirk Secraw, probably was not anticipating the start his team got this year.

The Vikings headed to the next city east on State Highway 40, Bloomer, April 11, where they were subjected to a 14-0 shutout at the hands of the Blackhawks. The team picked itself up and dusted itself off in time to head to Spring Valley April 13.

But the squad suffered yet another smack down in Spring Valley, when it suffered an 11-0 loss to the Cardinals.
