THORA B. VOELTZ

Thora B. Voeltz, age 85 of Glenwood City, died Sunday, August 13, 2017 at home surrounded by her family.

Thora was born December 2, 1931 to Stella and Edwin Lehman. She grew up in Prairie Farm, WI with her four brothers on the family farm. She married the love of her life, Verlyn Voeltz on July 28, 1951 and together they raised three boys, Vince, Vaughn, and Verdell. Thora enjoyed many hobbies. She would spend her summers gardening and canning with her husband while listening to the Brewers on the radio. Many summer days and nights were spent in Herbster, WI fishing and walking the sandy beaches on the Lake Superior shore.  Winters were occupied by sewing quits for her family and spending many hours with the Women of the ELCW (Ladies Aid) at Church sewing and donating time for different charity and church events. Saturdays and Sundays in the fall was family time spent watching the Packers and Badgers play football.  Thora had a special place in her heart for her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family and friends, but her favorite pasttime was watching her grandchildren’s sports events. She was at every Glenwood City football, wrestling, baseball, softball and basketball event. She was their biggest fan!

Thora is preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Vaughn, brothers Avult Lehman, Royce Lehman and Larry Lehman.

Thora is survived by her children Vincent (Gail) and Verdell (Gloria) and daughter-in-law Barb; grandchildren  Nathan and Nina, Mitchell (Anna), Miranda (Luke), Matthew (Arica), Jeromie (Tammy) and Cory (Angie); great-grandchildren Jake, Remi, Harold, Henry, Isabelle, Emma, Avery, Austin, Kiley, Aubree, Jackson and Johnny; great-great-grandchild Salem; brother Harold Lehman; sisters-in-law Myrtle Lehman, Jeannie Lehman and Joanne Rosenow (Tony) and many nieces and nephews.
