Power out in Emerald

EMERALD — For those living in Emerald, power was off because of a tree that fell onto a power line just east of Highway D in the village early Monday morning.

When the tree fell it pulled a power pole out of line and the power lines were broken and fell to the ground.

The Glenwood City Fire Department was paged to the scene shortly before 3 a.m. Monday morning and taped off the area and waited at the scene until a crew from Excel Energy was able to reach the scene to restore power to the area.
