On a roll: Lady Vikings handle Lumberjacks, Wolves with ease

By Cara L. Dempski

COLFAX — The Vikings’ head girls’ basketball coach Joe Doucette was a bit worried earlier this year about his team’s performance on the court.

Doucette knew then his team had the talent to run with some of the area’s top squads, but he admitted he was having a hard time drawing it out of the girls.

With last week’s performances against Ladysmith and Elmwood/Plum City, it appears he no longer has any question about what kind of team he has on his hands.

The Colfax girls opened the week on January 30 with a home matchup against non-conference foe Ladysmith, and walked away with a 61-26 win. The Vikings remained at home on February 1, but this time the opponent was the Dunn-St. Croix’s Wolf pack from Elmwood/Plum City.
