VIRGINIA GOVE

Virginia “Ma” D. Gove, age 76, a resident of Trego died September 13, 2012 at the Benedictine Living Community in Spooner.

Virginia was born on May 4, 1936 in River Falls, Wisconsin, the daughter of William and Zita Niehoff. On December 26, 1959 she and Jerry were united in marriage in River Falls. To this union, nine children were born.

Virginia worked as a custodian in the Boyceville School District for 13 years before retiring to the north woods in 1991. Virginia was the “Master” of baked beans and took pleasure in baking. She liked spending time with her children and grandchildren, being outside with the birds, and going fishing. She also enjoyed playing cards, doing crossword puzzles and gardening. She was an expert knitter and crocheter, and shared her numerous creations with family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sons Kelly and Alan; daughter-in-law Brenda Gove; son-in-law Todd Lystrom; sister and brother-in-law Sylvia and Joe Murphy; brother and sister-in-law Marvin and Elaine Niehoff; brother Alquin; sister-in-law Elaine Gove; and brother-in-law Bill McGee.

Virginia is survived by her husband of 52 years Jerry; children Diane Gove, Catherine (Rick) Nelson, Amy Gove, Karen (Tim) Kerner, Duane (Shawn Larsen) Gove, Angie (Mark) Malcore, and Ron (Tonia Morrison) Gove; 9 grandchildren; a great grandchild; her sisters Anna Mae (Joe) Fox, Florence (Ed) Richmeier, and Bertha Niehoff; brother Hank (Ione) Niehoff; in-laws Dorothy Niehoff, Gene Gove, Mary McGee, Greg (Connie) Gove, along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, September 20, 2012 at 11:00 AM at the Taylor Family Funeral Home with Father Ed Anderson as celebrant. Visitation will be Wednesday, September 19th from 5:00pm to 8:00pm, and from 10:00am to 11:00am on September 20th, also at the Taylor Funeral Home.
