Knapp man becomes St. Croix County’s second traffic fatality of 2017

SCC Fatal Crash PhotoKNAPP MAN DIES — 57-year-old Timothy Mittlestadt of Knapp was killed Wednesday afternoon, March 15 when the the 2001 Chevrolet Express van, pictured above, was struck on the driver's side by a 2011 Ford E450 Super Duty truck being driven by Richard Fisher, 52, of Hudson, WI. The collision happened at 2:33 p.m. on County Highway N at 310th Street in the St. Croix County Township of Cady. According to authorities, Mittlestadt failed to stop at a stop sign while traveling north on CTH N and was struck by the estbound Schwan's truck being driven by Fisher. Mittlestadt, who was not wearing a seat belt and had to be extricated from the van, was pronounced dead at the scene. Fisher, who was belted when the crash occurred, was taken by Spring Valley ambulance to the River Falls Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. —photo by St. Croix County Sheriff's Office

TOWN OF CADY — A two-vehicle crash in the St. Croix County Town of Cady near Spring Valley March 15 has resulted in the county’s second traffic fatality this year.

57 year-old Timothy Mittlestadt of Knapp was killed in the crash when he failed to stop at a stop sign and was struck a commercial truck.
