GC VB hangs tough with Colfax in opening set only to fall in three

By Cara L. Dempski

COLFAX — Scoreboards never show the moral victories.

For example: the Lady Hilltoppers may have came away from their October 5 road match against Colfax with a 3-0 loss, but that does not mean Glenwood City played poorly.

Quite to the contrary, the Toppers hung right with the Vikings in the first set, losing by four points, 25-21, the defending conference co-champs, and a team that is potentially well on its way to claiming the top spot a fifth year in a row.
