EM baseball comes up short at Chetek, easily handles Mondovi

Elk Mound’s baseball team took its show on the road the week before Easter after playing a three-game home stand to open the season.

The Mounders headed north April 11 to take on the Chetek-Weyerhaeuser team for one more out-of-league game before opening conference play. Elk Mound had an 8-7 lead going into the fifth, but could not hold off the Bulldogs, who scored a pair of late-inning runs, to take the 9-8 lead, and eventually the win.
