Colfax senior Heidorn selected for WBCA Division 4 all-star team

COLFAX — A Colfax girls’ basketball player has been named to the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches’ Association’s Division 4 all-star north basketball team for 2017.

Senior Ally Heidorn will get one more game out of her high school basketball career when she joins the D4 north team’s coach, Durand head coach Lionel Jones, for a North vs. South match-up on June 16. The division four game will be held at the JustAgame center in Wisconsin Dells, and is scheduled along with similar match-ups for the other four WIAA divisions.

Colfax’s head girls’ basketball coach, Joe Doucette, said Heidorn is very deserving of the honor.

“She is simply a great person, with a huge heart. She is a great job as a captain this year, and she is a great teammate who puts her teammates first,” Doucette noted.

The game allows players from each division a chance to be part of a team with girls they competed against throughout their high school careers. The boys’ and girls’ events also raise money for Midwest Athletes Children’s Cancer fund.

Heidorn will be asked to raise at least $500 to contribute to the charity, and anyone willing to sponsor her can donate on the WBCA website.

The Viking senior is a two-time all conference player, and is the daughter of Chad and Nancy Heidorn.
