Boyceville finishes third again, Garrett Joles and Brock Schlough repeat as NB champs

RIVER FALLS —  Once again, the Boyceville wrestling team found itself in the thick of the competition for a coveted Northern Badger crown and with an unprecedented five Bulldogs making the finals round, it appeared that this just might be the year that the overall team title finally came home to the Dog House.

But alas, it was not to be.

After crowning three Northern Badger champs each of the previous two years, just two of the Bulldogs’ championship-round quintet were able to complete their runs to gold and with an unfilled weight at 138 pounds, Boyceville had to settle for a second consecutive third-place overall finish and the Division 3 (small school) title at the 2017 Northern Badger Wrestling Classic held Thursday and Friday, December 28 and 29 at River Falls High School.
