B-C wrestlers travel to Florida to compete

ORLANDO, FL — After a lot of fund raising efforts this past year, several members of the Bloomer-Colfax wrestling team earned their way to compete against some tough competition in Orlando, FL Dec. 20-23.

Without a full team, B-C lost all four duel matches in the competition, 57-22 to Rockledge, 45-18 to Clarke, 60-18 to Reedsville and 71-9 against Schuykill Valley.

At 106 pounds, Justin Wachtendonk lost twice by pins and won by forfeit twice, Brady Simonson won two matches by pins, lost another via a pin and won by a forfeit at 120 pounds, Celvin Marquardt lost all four of his matches by pins at 126 pounds and Hunter Hetke, wrestling at 132 pounds, also lost all four of his matches by getting pinned.

Robby Rands was pretty successful as he won three matches by pinning his opponents and lost one getting pinned himself at 145 pounds, Dan Thorgerson lost two matches by pins and won a 6-3 decision over his Schuykill opponent at 152 while Jon Thorgerson lost by a pin at that same weight. Brady Hetke won by a major decision 12-3 against Rockledge but lost by pins three times at 160, Tommy Johnson  won by a pin against Rockledge, lost 9-6 against Clarke, won by forfeit and lost by a pin in his four matches at 170 pounds. 182 pounder Jake Floodquist lost all four matches, 7-6 against Rockledge and the other three by pins.
