Adolph M. Karis, age 95 of Emerald, WI, died on Friday, March 2, 2018, at his daughter’s home in Osceola, WI after a long bout with cancer.
Adolph Matthew Karis was born on November 11, 1922, in Bruce, WI, the son of John & Clara (Miller) Karis. He moved with his family to the Clear Lake, WI area in 1929 and attended Clear Lake Schools. During this time Adolph worked on the family dairy farm. He was married to Ruth R. Peck on October 22, 1942 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Amery, WI. Together they dairy farmed for many years in Emerald, WI and raised seven children, Beatrice, Wayne, Dale, Lois, Donna, Bill & Faith. When Adolph wasn’t busy with milking cows, bailing hay or picking rocks, he enjoyed square dancing and listening to Polkas and Bluegrass music. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren. Adolph was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church in Clear Lake, WI.
He is preceded in death by his wife Ruth Karis; his son, Dale Karis; grandson Christopher Karis; parents, John & Clara Karis; 2 brothers & 4 sisters
Adolph is survived by: daughters and sons Beatrice Williams of Osceola, WI, Wayne Karis of Emerald, WI, Lois Gustafson of Osceola, WI, Donna (Ron) Hurta of Friendship, Bill Karis of Amery, WI, Faith (Mike) Fillion of Ladysmith, WI; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-hrandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
The funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 8, 2018, at noon from the Scheuermann Funeral Home of Clear Lake, WI Visitiation will be an hour before the service at the funeral home on Thursday. Mike Fillion will be the celebrant and casketbearers will be David Karis, Matt Karis, Karl Karis, Tony Karis, Kerry Dahl, & James Jacobs.
Interment will be at Clear Lake Cemetery, Clear Lake, Wisconsin.
